This family, this location, and that warm golden sunshine give me all the feels. Every single one of them. Ashley is another family photographer in the area (she's incredible, check out her work! www.ashleydscheider.com) and one of the warmest and most hilarious individuals I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. We spent some time exploring and chasing the sun together at one of our favorite spots! (Make sure to check out the blooper at the end LOL)
June and Tyler chose to elope and say their vows on a trail with a gorgeous view of Mt Rainier and the glacier water at the base. Their adorable son was also there to witness his parents get married and it was an incredibly special moment.
It just felt right with these two, being in the middle of nowhere, with nobody else around, and absolutely blissful lighting.
Everything about Sarah and Anthony together is genuine, warm, and full of love. They are both very involved in their church, which is why this venue was incredibly special to them. This was one of those weddings where nobody seemed stressed and everyone was fully present and aware that each moment of the day was significant. The sun was shining from sunrise to sunset. Anthony serenaded his beautiful bride while playing guitar. Milk and cookies were served at the reception. Warmth, comfort, and love were the theme of their day and I'm so grateful to have been part of it!
5 hours round trip in the car on an absolutely beautiful drive, 60mph sustained winds, and a whole lot of love and laughter! That's what Carli and CJ's engagement session was made of. The gorgeous light fading behind the cliffs didn't hurt either! I love these two together and can't wait for their wedding next month!
Aubrey and Tucker are one of those couples that you just love being around. They are so relaxed, fun, and very obviously in love with each other. They brought me to one of their favorite little gems of a location with a river, beautiful bridge, forest, and a pond for their engagement session. I hadn't been to this location before and exploring a spot that had meaning to them was such a fun experience! I can't wait to document their beautiful Autumn wedding!
The beautiful Cross family met me up at Mt Rainier for their session and dressed perfectly to match the scenery! We ventured around lakes, fall foliage, hills, and wildflowers. Take a look below to see our adventure!
Taylor and Nick chose Mountain View Manor in Enumclaw, WA for their wedding ceremony and reception. This venue has a stunning view of Mt Rainier along with access to gorgeous fields, beautiful flowers, and perfect views of the golden sunset!
These two have a beautiful family together and the amount of love and fun they shared with their loved ones on their special day was something I am so grateful to have been part of!
From the flower crowns and flowing dresses to the gorgeous golden hour and mountains, the Tibbitts Family session was definitely one of my favorites of the year!
I had the absolutely incredible honor of traveling to Maui to document Tiffany and Brien's gorgeous beach wedding! They had the beautiful sand all to themselves, the sunshine was in true Hawaiian form, and the reception afterward at The Pacific'o restaurant had amazing food! I don't think you could ask for anything more!
A huge congratulations to these two newlyweds!!
Alyssa's session was the first of many to come for a very special project I'm working on for women! Her session also happens to be one of my very favorites. She's a natural in front of the lens and allowed me to push a little more for some poses and emotions I've been wanting to draw out. I can't wait to see her images next to the rest of the women as my project continues to grow!
As I'm getting caught up with blogging, I am reminded at just how beautiful and romantic Jamie and Josh's wedding was at the Wild Rose venue in Arlington, WA. This outdoor venue is STUNNING. The views, the lush greenery, the flowers, the special details and everything about this place is perfection.
The forecast all week was calling for rain, but just how much rain was yet to be determined. Let me put it this way, it DUMPED full on buckets of rain all day long and it never stopped! The heavens had opened up and had no intention of slowing down!
I was worried that the beautiful bride, Jamie, would be stressed and disappointed. Instead, she was gracious, patient, and in beautiful spirits. This was her wedding day and she wasn't going to let some rain change that! After reassuring her that we would get beautiful images regardless, she decided to make use of the venue's beautiful white ceremony tent, complete with hanging chandelier!
The moment I saw her walking toward the tent, arm in arm with her dad under an umbrella, with rain pouring all around them, I knew this was going to be one of the most special wedding moments I would ever be part of. The rain just continued on through the ceremony. The massive droplets loudly pounding onto the tent somehow added to the romance of the day.
After the ceremony, and the formal family portraits, Jamie and Josh told me they would be up for anything, including getting drenched in the rain with me. They ran through the rain, stood under gigantic trees for shelter, and embraced the elements! This is definitely one that will stick with me forever!
(BIG shoutout to my incredibly talented second shooter Jessi Deal for being the adventurer she is and getting drenched along with us!)
As I'm catching up on some spring and summer blogs from last year, I had to take a moment to feature Taylor and Nick's Engagement session! These two chose the majestic Pacific Northwest as their engagement session backdrop! The sun was shining, which meant Mt Rainier was out in all her glory. We trekked trails surrounded by wildflowers, navigated around streams, and climbed around forest trees to let nature be part of this exciting time for them! Scroll down to see a few of my favorites from their session!
Lisa and her beautiful family came out to the Mt Rainier area for their maternity session! I love shooting up here in any weather, but the light was particularly gorgeous on this evening! Their sweet little boy, JJ, being all smiles was just the cherry on top!
Alicen is a phenomenal photographer who I have been following for over a year. When she contacted me for family photos in the mountains I was so excited for the opportunity! Brian and Alicen's kids were SO photogenic and easy to work with. I loved making them giggle and watching their sweet faces light up!
Check out the beautiful light we had up by Mt Rainier!
Leta and Matt are expecting a sweet baby boy this July! We had their maternity session at gorgeous location near Mt Rainier and between the sunshine, rain, snow, thunder and fog, we definitely weren't lacking any variety! Scroll through the images below to see how sweet these two are together and to see the stunning scenery we got to adventure through!
I absolutely LOVE Fresh 48 sessions! If you aren't familiar with this term, it's basically a lifestyle newborn session that takes place in your hospital room within 48 hours after delivery (often only 12 - 24 hours after!). I love these sessions because of the overwhelming emotion of the family meeting this sweet little person for the first time, the first bath, family visiting, and so many more details that go by so fast!
Sweet little Sadie was only a few hours old when I arrived at the hospital. She is so beautiful and so loved by her family!
Ashley and her mom found me through an amazing couple they know whose wedding I photographed last year! I couldn't have been more excited for the session! It was a gorgeous day mixed with sun, a little rain, and a beautiful rainbow. We were able to get some images in all the elements. Ashley is gorgeous inside and out and I'm so honored to have documented this high school senior at such an exciting point in her life!
I put this idea together kind of last minute and Jamie and Josh were so sweet and willing to bring their canoe out to the lake for an epic sunset engagement session! These two are totally easy to work with and so adventurous we even had the boat tip over and they got a little wet! They are getting married this August and I'm so excited to document their beautiful wedding!
This sweet family holds a special place in my heart. A little over a year ago they lost their sweet baby boy, Gabriel, when Jamie was almost 20 weeks along. They've been through so much in the past year and deserve nothing but greatness! They now have two girls and we wanted to celebrate Isabella's life by remembering sweet Gabriel. I found these gorgeous rainbow colored wraps on Etsy and knew they would be perfect for Isabella as the family's rainbow baby. I couldn't be more honored that this family let me document such a happy and emotional time for them!
