Hannah and Jake knew they wanted to take their closest family and friends on an incredible adventure on Mt. Rainier for their elopement. So, Coleman and I helped these two fellow adventurers plan an absolutely gorgeous small wedding at sunset where they were able to get their parents, siblings and closest friends part way up a volcano!

And so we set off!

Mt. Rainier, also called Tahoma, was originally named by Northwest Native Americans,

is an active stratovolcano in the Cascade Range standing at 14,411 feet.

Everyone absolutely killed it on the hike on this scorcher of a day. We took our time and along the way we laughed a ton, commiserated about the heat, and saw chipmunks, pikas, and marmots!

We fought some clouds early in the day on the hike up, but by the time we reached the getting ready spot, Mt. Rainier was out in all her glory! Hannah and her best friends stayed behind, while the rest of the family went up to the ceremony spot to meet up with Jake!

And then it was time for Hannah to get into her gorgeous wedding dress!

With Hannah now in her dress and Jake up at the ceremony location ready to go, Hannah and her girls set off on the last stretch of the hike to get her married!

Once we got up to the top, just before seeing her soon-to-be, Hannah met up with her dad. Then, they had a few nice moments together while she put his boutonniere on for him. Afterward, Hannah’s dad walked her down the makeshift trail aisle so Jake could see his bride for the first time in her wedding dress!

Next, it was time for one of Hannah’s best friends to officiate their gorgeous ceremony on Mt. Rainier!

As the sun began to crest, the gorgeous vivid cotton candy colors starting to illuminate the sky as we moved into the blue hour. With the sun down, the temperature was very comfortable as we hiked back to the parking lot (bride and groom still in their dress and dress blues!) and we documented their journey, now as husband and wife, back down to our cars until we didn’t have anymore light. This was an incredible adventure on a stunning day with a couple so very in love, and it doesn’t get any better than that!

The view and the love this adventurous couple have for one another was palpable such an inspiration to document! The way they laugh together shows what an incredible bond and friendship they have as the foundation of their relationship.
